Evidence before certainty
Claims should be traceable to a named source and carry an evidence label appropriate to that source. Manufacturer claims, estimates, reported claims and confirmed facts are not blended. Missing information stays missing rather than being guessed.
News selection and no-copy model
The news index prioritizes material developments in robotics, drones, autonomy, embodied AI, regulation and enabling technology from reputable or authoritative publishers. Each item preserves the publisher's headline, short feed summary, time and outbound link. The Observatory does not copy article bodies, conceal provenance or fabricate stories. Inclusion is not endorsement.
Research summaries
Paper pages contain citation metadata and a concise synopsis intended to help readers decide whether to consult the original work. They do not reproduce full papers or imply peer review where none occurred. Limitations reported by authors should remain visible.
AI assistance
This site is compiled partly through AI-assisted research; figures are indicative and may be out of date — verify against primary sources. AI-assisted normalization or drafting remains subordinate to evidence rules, and machine-generated output is not itself a source. Automated tools may not invent specifications, sources, quotes, news, relationships or regulatory conclusions.
Human review and higher-risk claims
Editors prioritize review where a claim could affect aviation, workplace safety, medical use, public safety, defense or civil liberties. Observatory coverage is descriptive research, never an operational authorization, safety case or tactical guide.
Corrections and source revisions
When a reliable source revises a fact, the Observatory should update the record and its review timestamp without erasing the original event date. Substantive errors should be corrected promptly. Send the URL, disputed claim and best available primary source through Contact.
Independence, advertising and conflicts
Advertising, sponsorship or commercial relationships do not determine evidence labels, rankings or editorial inclusion. Sponsored material, if introduced, will be labeled. Affiliate links, if introduced, will be disclosed at the point of decision. Writers and editors should disclose material conflicts that could reasonably affect coverage.
Responsible dual-use coverage
The Observatory may document defense, surveillance and other dual-use systems when doing so serves legitimate public understanding. It does not publish weapon-construction, targeting, evasion or harmful tactical instructions and does not rank weapons by effectiveness.
