Política de privacidad
How the Observatory handles browser preferences, messages, service logs, email updates and advertising technology.
Policy version: August 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to Robot Observatory and its website. Links from the Observatory lead to independent publishers, manufacturers, regulators, universities and other third parties whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
2. Information we receive
The Observatory can be browsed without an account. Our hosting systems may receive ordinary service-log information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, timestamps and security events. If you contact us or request email updates, we receive the information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, organization and message.
3. Browser-local preferences
Saved entries, comparison selections, theme, language and view preferences may be stored in cookies or local storage in your own browser. These controls are not an Observatory account and may disappear if you clear site data or change browsers or devices.
4. How information is used
We use information to operate and secure the site, remember requested settings, answer messages, provide updates a reader requested, diagnose faults, measure aggregate service performance and comply with law. We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and Google AdSense
First-party storage supports site preferences and essential operation. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a reader's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve personalized ads; where required, personalization follows the reader's consent choices.
Readers can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn about Google's advertising technology in Google's advertising policies. Browser controls may also block or delete cookies, although some preferences may then stop working.
6. Service providers and disclosure
Limited information may be processed by hosting, security, email, analytics or advertising providers that help operate the service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not give contact-form or subscriber details to robotics companies for their own marketing.
7. Retention and security
Operational logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and reliability. Messages and subscription records are retained while needed to respond or provide the requested service, and then deleted or minimized under ordinary retention practices. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Choices and requests
You may unsubscribe through an email's instructions, clear browser-local Observatory data through your browser, or ask to access, correct or delete contact information we hold. Legal rights vary by location. Submit a request through Contact; we may need to verify that the request concerns you.
9. Children
The service is a general educational reference and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; contact us if you believe such information was submitted.
10. Changes and contact
Material policy changes will be posted on this page with a revised version date. Privacy questions and requests may be sent through the Observatory contact form.
